∴ Q&A About My Service ∴
What kind of products do you photograph?
To keep costs down and fees to a minimum I work with items considered to be tabletop sized. If your item is less than 30 inches along the longest side I can work with it.
How much is this going to cost me?
Fees are always by the shot and vary from product to product and job to job. Give me your project details and I will give you a no-obligation free bid. Get STARTED NOW!
Do you give quantity discounts?
In a nutshell, no. I specialize in small run projects of less than 100 products that require elevated customer service. There are plenty of “pop n drop” services that handle large quantities of 100+ products on the internet.
How long are bids valid?
Bids are valid for 30 days so you can take your time, shop around if you like.
Why is there a deposit requirement?
Studio scheduling can be very tight, a small deposit guarantees your place on the schedule.
How long will this take?
Turn around time varies from project to project. I estimate completion times based on each project’s individual requirements, therefore less quantity and complications equal quicker results.
What rights do I have with the photographs?
Unlike the “big” shops, all licensing is equal under a commercial non-exclusive stock license. Please review this Sample License (pdf). Special Rights Managed licensing is available on request.
questions About The Process
How do I select the proper samples for the camera?
The camera sees everything, no matter how small the flaw to the eye, the camera can make small issues really obvious. Read the Sample Guide (pdf) for hints on proper sample selection, packing and delivery to the studio.
How do I get my samples to you?
Properly pack the samples with an inventory sheet listing all the items included. Often, more than one sample of a product may be required, especially items that need to be opened or may become damaged during the process. Please download and read this Sample Guide (pdf) for details.
Do I get to approve the work in progress?
Yes, as soon as a workable draft image is available, you will be emailed a secure link to review the concepts. At that time you can approve or provide me with feedback. Draft images are watermarked and are not licensed for use. Final images contain no watermarks or service marks of any kind.
What if I change the project specs?
If I haven’t started yet, I’ll just work you up a new bid. Running projects can be scaled up and down depending on the work already completed.
What is standard editing?
Standard editing includes cleaning up the digital negative, cropping, removing some minor defects and correcting color accuracy. Standard editing is included in every project bid at no extra charge.
What is Premium editing?
Editing the image beyond the basics. Removing the background, correcting large product defects, compositing images together, and adding art elements to name a few. Fees for premium service vary according to time and difficulty and are detailed in your bid.
Are samples returned when the project is over?
That depends on you. If you want the samples returned tell me during the bid process so I can make the proper arrangements. Please note: You are responsible for all return shipping charges. Samples will only be sent to domestic U.S. addresses using USPS Priority Service. Please understand that samples may have been rendered unsaleable due to removal of plastic wrap, safety seals, or other damage and I cannot be held responsible as such. If you choose not to have the samples returned, I will dispose, donate or give away the samples according to your direction.
